At 7:57 PM on August 11, Qingdao Liuting International Airport saw off its last flight as Qingdao Airlines Flight 9779 took off. Subsequently, liuting Airport was officially closed after the successful completion of various transfer tasks such as the commissioning task. At the same time, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, the highest level of domestic civil aviation operation class 4F, was officially opened.
Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport is located in Jiaodong Town, Jiaozhou City, Qingdao, with a terminal area of 478,000 square meters and a total of 184 seats. By 2025, it is planned to meet the annual passenger throughput of 35 million person-times, cargo throughput of 500,000 tons and aircraft takeoffs and landings of 300,000.
From the air, the terminal of Jiaodong Airport is in the shape of a starfish. The terminal hall is integrated with the five-finger corridor. High-speed trains and subways run through the terminal and have stations in the integrated traffic intersection area. Passengers can get off the high-speed railway station and walk 80 meters to the departure hall of the airport, truly realizing the "zero transfer" between the airport and the rail transit.
Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport operates about 130 domestic destinations, and international and regional destinations connect with about 50 key cities in Japan, South Korea, Europe, Europe, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
